I very much preferred the DH-1 to the Seymour Duncan JB but then I'm not an all-out distortion kinda guy. Fender's pickup philosophy with humbuckers seems to be to avoid the insane output levels and to go instead for slightly lower output but more versatile pickups. Although I haven't played any of the Blacktop guitars, those may be aimed more at the overdrive lovers of this world.

The Duncans I usually sell I have primaraly installed Dimarzios in my strats I run an Evolution Bridge Area 61 Middle injector Neck in my American Deluxe with Floyd Rose.
In My 89 Am. Standard a Super Distortion S
The Highway one was clear coated with a Blade Runner tremolo and I tried to give it an old school touch.
The blacktops are running China pickups like the dragon fire ones you can get on ebay for $25.
I just left my Les Pauls stock only blinged them out.

Hi BMW-KTM back at ya,
OK, I know what you mean by tweed the other guitarist has a Vox very nice stuff and buys all true bypass and plays a 66 strat that has been givin a 10 grand value only cuz he routed it as a kid for a humbucker.
He has restored it.
Just the pot was like 300 I believe the pickup ran him think 500 not sure but it was high.
But his stuff squacks and buzzes howls and stuff.
Mine is quiet and state of the art and for some reason he really likes mine.
But its really a nice contrast as a whole.

Im more of a brand spankin new guy always have been I would say in my 38 years of playing I have owned almost twice as many guitars.

Im really sold on the Line 6 I have owned several Marshalls a Crate Blue Voodoo Carvin etc.
I always bought stacks.
The Spider Valve is pro level
I will prob keep this one till the end I dig the digital interface.
The pod pro rack sucked because it was like launching a shuttle and the Spider IV was more like kids toys.
But now Im real happy.

The mystery is solved! what I had was a mis marked Standard thats why they both read the same 7.85 its an alnico 5. They are both Standard humbuckers. After talking to Fender and checking another Hot Rod the reading for a Hot Rod is 16.5 Alnico 5.
