Hi, everyone.

I am looking for a new set of saddles for the Strat Plus Ultra, which has a Fender's own type of locking trem. I was going through the support page for any info, but no luck. I was wondering if anyone knows if Fender still offers them as parts and what's the cat number on them? I'd try to get them trhough my Fender dealer, but to make things go smoother and they really don't have a clue what this guitar is even with pictures, I just want to be straight with them.

This is it.

Thank you all!

The saddles in that pic are NOT original to the guitar. If my memory serves me correctly the guitar came with the "Powdered Saddles" but they are a bit different in shape than those. I believe the saddles on the American Standard Strat are the same type as the Strat Ultra Saddles.

Just tell your Fender Dealer what you want, they should know exactly the type of saddles your after.

Interesting guitar, hard to tell without seeing more pics. What you have as a bridge is a Fender Floyd Rose Trem that was the second type of Trem used on the Strat ultra issued from 1992 onwards.

I dont mean to dissapoint, mbut your guitar is not a Strat Ultra. however, it could be either a Strat Plus Deluxe with the Ultra pickguard mounted, or an American Standard with a Fender Floyd Rose bridge and the Ultra pickguard installed. Really need to see more images of your guitar to determine exactly what it is.

In terms of where you would find the parts you require, I would try ebay as these bridges are not manufactured anymore. You will find it easier getting a used bridge rather than the individual saddles. Perhaps forum user Xhefri may point you in the right direction as to where you may source them as he is the expert on these and a great bloke too. Are you able to post some close up images of your bridge and the rest of the guitar?

The Ultras came with ebony fretboards.

Later Strat Deluxes and Ultras (right around '93) did come with the bridge shown in the link. This was Fender's answer to the Floyd Rose.

Fender continued using the mini floyd bridge on the American Deluxe Series and certain Custom Shop guitars until 2007.

Sorry guys, it's my last post.

Sorry guys, that's not the picture of the guitar in question, but it has the same bridge on. The guitar I am working on indeed has an ebony fretboard, lace sensors, locking tuners & LSR nut, exact same bridge as shown in picture and it has the Floyd Rose & Fender logo on it. It's a 100% stock guitar, it says ULTRA on the neck plate, serial #N3116862.

This is the guitar that came in my shop. And it is indeed a genuine Ultra.

If you can't get any saddles or a replacement bridge, perhaps you can install a deluxe 2 point Trem? They were installed before they were fitting these mini Floyd rose bridges.. Just an idea..

Here is a pic of mine for reference:

You are right getriba . This guitar look to be original . I have many Fender's Catalogs and books s showing many Ultra Stat and Plus . This bridge is standard on some guitar some year or as a option.

I got it in for a refret and I know from the past the owner always wanted a refurbished tremolo, so I think now it would be a good opportunity to replace those too.

Substituting this with a standard 2-point with block saddles is not an option. Strats are my big speciality and I'm not too crazy about the double locking trems myself, but this guy is a very loyal customer and I know the double lock idea suits him best. And for the Ultras I kinda feel they should be kept as they are (electronics excluded). They are something special, at least this one is. I know the guitar down to the last chip on the fretboard.

I'd be really glad if Fender still makes them and somebody is kind enough to give me the cat number. Believe me, I have tried with my dealer and failed, even guys from this thread struggled a bit and gave alternatives, but no

I think that's the problem; when Fender stopped using that bridge in 2007 they also discontinued selling the complete bridge as an aftermarket item it so they may not have any parts left. Otherwise you'll probably have to search ebay to find replacement parts.

In terms of the part number here is the Fender Service Diagram for an American Deluxe HSS with the locking trem - looks like there are actually 3 different saddle/locking mechanisms as shown on pages 2 &3:

http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... C_SISD.pdf

Maybe this can help you refurbish that Ultra's bridge.

@John C

It's possible to drop the mini floyd bridge into a post-2010 Deluxe HSS? I'm not certain if the assembly is compatible with the Fender/Ping locking tuners....

Kudos to you, John! There are three different saddles heights and you probably need two of each, it's the same as with any floyd rose trem, where you have three different heights paired together to form a correct radius at the bridge. The PDF you linked here gives me the right info.

chromeface - I don't believe that would be a problem; aren't the Fender/Ping tuners just copies of the Schallers? I only have them on my Select Tele and of course there's no trem. They do appear to be a bit less substantial than the Schaller locking tuners on my EBMM Albert Lee with trem but I would assume they would hold tuning as well.

I actually grabbed the OP the 2000 American Deluxe HSS spec sheet since it showed the locking trem.
