Hi guys,

I'm new here and I have to apologise for my english. I'm from Germany ;).

I am currently looking for a Fender guitar.

And I found one, with a US-Serial like the new Am Standard's.

But there is also a Custom Shop Logo on the headstock.

I think the CS Logo must be fake - but perhaps I'm just uninformed?

Here are some pictures of the guitar:

The next few days I'll be looking at the guitar in person, but I want to know something more about it, before I look at it.
The owner told me , that he is not the first one, who bought the guitar.

Perhaps it couls be something like this?

It would be awesome, if you could help me.

Thank you.

I think that the CS logo has been added later.
It's not a Custom Deluxe - these had locking tuners. It could be the earlier Custom Classic, but I don't think so. The CS guitars had the serial number on the neckplate and no "Made in USA" on the front.
Also there is no CS case, case candy, wrong tags and sticker.
It may be a genuine Am Standard but the fake CS logo makes me suspicious.

My knowledge is limited. Maybe you can ask Mike Eldred in the Custom Shop section of the forum.
Goodonya ...Mark.

The CS logo has been placed there after the guitar left the Fender factory, it's not precisely center like an original CS guitar and it looks like some of the p in shop is missing, probably torn of by accident while being applied.

Take a good look at it when you can and if it's legit, it will be under the finish, if the logo is outside on top of the finish, then it's not CS.

Thank you for your answers!

Could it also be, that this guitar is a complete fake? Or just the CS-Logo?

The price request of the current owner is a bit high for a used US Standard here in Germany.
I think cause of the CS Logo.

I think just the logo, other than that, it looks like an all original (2010 American Standard).

Hello neighbor europe, if you did not buy this guitar is in another car now has Printfriendly logos are found on the net and the guys will do anything for a few dollars more!
Depending on the price, prefer a specialty store.
I do not know about our friends across the Atlantic, but here there are more counterfeits in circulation.

It's probably just the logo which is suspect, BUT, if the seller can't explain why it's there, I would walk away.

Thank you all! :)

Today I'm going to inspect the guitar.
