hello ya'lls,

i'm still getting used to my FIRST stratocaster here and i was wanting to set up the tremolo so that it can only get pushed downward and NOT pulled upward to raise pitch (i do NOT want it to float). is all that i need to do is place more Tremolo springs in the back, so that all 5 are placed inside?

i primarily want to do this so that my Strat would less likely be detuned while playing.

thanks,
marbles71

You will need to tighten the 2 screws on the claw.

I have mine like that, but mainly because I don't use it much, and I like to use different tuning during sets.

One note: You'll most likely have tuning problems if you use it like that. If that bridge can't go both ways, at least a little, it won't go back "exactly" to where it was before, and it will knock itself out of town. At least my three strats are like that (two MIA and a MIM), and all have locking sperzels and minimal friction points.
