What year is this guitar ? The back of the headstock (which would indicate this) is not shown in the photos. I have a 2006 and wonder if mine may have a nitro body. Thx

The Road Worns were the first MIMs with nitro finished bodies. Earlier Classics and Classic Players all had polyester finished bodies. This year they introduced the Classic Lacquer series (nitro body and neck) and the nitro FSR Classic Players.

So a 2006 Classic Player would have a polyester body finish and a polyurethane neck finish.

Since Fender apparently hasn't published specs for the FSR Classic Players, I don't think we can conclusively say that the neck finish is poly. The only way to be 100% sure would be to remove the neck and rub some acetone on the neck heel (or remove a tuner and rub under there). If the finish dissolves it's nitro, if not it's poly.

This year (I assume you mean 2013). I read on Sweetwater and other sites that the Nitro Classic Player strat is no longer available, so I thought it was made prior to 2013 and had limited production or a short run ? Do you know anyone marketing these nitro strats ? Thx

Classic Player with nitro finish was a special run from 2012.
This year Fender introduced the classic series with nitro.
