I have what I think is a Fender Hotrod Strat it has two single coils and a Dimarzio H2 humbuker with a floyd rose. The serial number is L035497 and it says made in japan on the neck I think it is a 1991 -1992 model.

On the body under the neck is a red F then a black line with I think HRR under it followed by -60FO one the neck where it meets the body is a red G followed by HRR-5OFO.

Im trying to find out when this guitar was made what it is actually called I know it is a Stratocaster and how much it is worth it is in good shape with a few dings in the paint.

I look at a few diffrent places but got two diffrent things it could be either a 1962-1963 or a 1991-1992.

Any help on this would be great even if it is just a web site where i can enter the number and that pin point it.

According to http://guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx

Your guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1991 - 1992

Jerry

Jerry nailed it - with a real Original Floyd Rose it would be from somewhat later in 1991, made by FujiGen in Japan. The first HRRs had Kahler "Steeler" bridges - which was an exact Floyd Rose bridge made from cold rolled steel by Kahler.

I remember the HRRs being very cool guitars; they weren't made for all that long. It seems that most of the 1993-1995s I ever saw used the photoflame bodies.

Hi Deadendchris.

The particular guitar you are inquiring about sounds like a Fender Stratocaster Hot Rod Reissue, aka. HRR. Fender (Fuji-gen) manufactured two versions of this guitar. The HRR 50s and the HRR 60s. The only difference was the 50s version featured a maple fretboard and the HRR 60s featured a rosewood fretboard. Other than that, they were identical. Yours would appear to be a combination of both, which isn't uncommon.

And actually that serial number date would be correct for an Original Floyd Rose tremolo. Fender began using Floyds in 1991. The previous Kahler Steeler versions of this Strat had serial numbers that began with I (1989-90). Also, on the Kahler Steeler versions, there was no string retention bar on the headstock, and the locking nut had the "Kahler" logo on it.

The used guitar market has been horrible for the last few years for sellers. This guitar would have easily sold between $425 to $500, about five years ago. Now at days, it may sell as low as $320.

This info is based my research on this guitar for the last 6 years. I fell in love with this model after I bought my first one, many years ago. I've bought and sold several over the years.

This is a pic of the three I currently own.

Would love to see some pics of yours.

I may put it on ebay in a week our two first Im gonna wait on a friend who said he may buy it when he gets his tax's. If he backs out ill put it on ebay I hate to sell it but at the same time it is a shame for such a good guitar to just sit around Im left handed so I never play it I only got it because I really like the way it looked.

If I put it on ebay Ill let you know. I had another guy I was trying to work a deal with for a custom shop left handed bass vi that wanted it sadly we couldnt get right on a deal I didnt have the money it would take to get the bass iv.
