If you're looking for a thin and relatively lifeless acoustic sound, go for the Fender Acoustasonic (the one with the strat neck).

If you play it via an amp, it's okay since you can form sound and depth with the amp controls.
It's got piezo pickups installed.
I really didn't like it when I played it purely acousticly.

If you're looking for a voluminous, good sounding acoustic, buy a big one, Dreadnaught kinda thing (unless you WILL play via an amp, then an electro-acoustic's fine, too).

+1, I agree as long as you have an amp to plug it in, you should be good.

I bought an Ovation CC44 mid depth bowl guitar a few years ago, it has a very slim neck and low action. It has a really great tone for country style music. I play it through a Boss AD3 and Fender FM21R and it sounds awesome. I found a device called the Standing O that attaches to the back of the body to prevent the guitar from scooting away from you when playing in standing position. I prefer playing the Ovation while sitting.

Thanks to everyone for your help. I ended up with a beautiful Seagull S6 with a slim neck. To those who pointed out that electric and acoustic guitars are really different instruments, you were right! I'd never really played much acoustic, but now I'm really having fun with it!
