I recently own two guitars :D both with nitro finishes. One is a Fender AVRI 62 strat and the other is a Gibson LP Traditional Pro.I need your advice for choosing products for polishing and cleaning these guitars(general care)..I would be glad if you advice a general brand that can be found in Europe and Turkey.Domestic USA brands cost a lot because of shipping(sometimes they are not even shipped worldwide) but Ebay items sometimes have reasonable costs.Looking forward for replies. Thanks a lot ..

I would consider any brand of carnuba wax.

+1

Any automotive wax (not rubbing compound) intended for a fine motorcar should be safe to use on your lacquered guitar finishes.

HTH

(and what a fine looking brace of guitars you have)

Rawk on!

Thanks for replies .. I took off the silicone tubes of the braces and put on my wifes old wool gloves for protecting the nitro finishes.Does not look cool but it works :)
I use Amways silicone glaze for my car and used it on my USA standard strat manytimes.I believe it can not be used for nitro finishes.Any opinions?

Guys he said Nitro finish not lacquer

on my Nitro Gibson if I need to I us naphtha; commonly found in Ronson's or Zippo's lighter fluid.
this is agreed upon over on the Gibson site as acceptable (don't smoke though).

as for your Fender, if it is really Nitro then the same care.

I probably wouldn't use a car wax on my guitars at all; I would think that it would just become gummy over time in the pours of the guitar finish.

Nitro-cellulose IS lacquer and I've been using car wax for over 40 years Fender uses automotive paint.

I like to use just a Micro-Fibre cloth and a spray bottle with plain water in it. I fold the cloth up and give one side of it a couple of misty sprays to slightly damp it, then wipe the guitar body and back of the neck with the damp cloth, then flip the cloth to a dry section and remove any moisture.
