I have a 2006 Ash Strat with the classic Trem. I did put the modern string tees on it. I must be doing something wrong. Bumping the trem arm down it goes flat, up and it goes sharp. Never had this problem with any of the other Strats I have owned. Any ideas?

Sounds like stuck strings in the saddle slots. They can't return into neutral position.
Have you increased string gauge when changing strings?

Might be as well too many string rounds on the tuner poles. 2 to 3 is enough on the thicker strings. 3 to 4 should be enough for the two thinnest strings to keep them from slipping in the tuner pole.

Have you pre-stretched the strings after changing strings?

Here's what I would do:
- pre-stretch the strings, one after the other, tune, stretch again, tune ... repeat at least 3 to 4 times or until there's no re-tuning necessary per string.

Re-check tuning stability when using the trem. Vintage trems are meant to be used gently! When doing severe dive bombs and such, every vintage trem will go out of tune. They're not meant for Eddie Van Halen trem acrobatics.

If still not stable in tuning, check the saddle slots, they might be too tight for the string gauge used. You might wanna try a drop of oil or a little graphite (pencil!!) in the slots and on the string Ts. Usually it's not necessary if the entire setup is correct.

In the "worst" case, you'll have to get the saddle slots redone by a guitar tech.

Remember, a tremolo needs maintenance as well, it's a moving mechanical item.
Check if you tightened the 6 screws too much. Loosen the screws by a quarter or half turn. Without string tension, the trem should be able to very slightly move. The screws MUST NOT be fully tightened. Then put a tiny bit of oil on the screws holding the trem (I usually brush it on with an old tooth brush).

Try everything except the guitar tech. If problem is not solved, have the saddle checked!
