Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here but here goes. I just picked up a surf green strat, fully loaded, and I just want to know a few things. First, is it a MIM or USA. Either way I don't mind, just need to know. And second, if it is a mexi or USA, what necks would fit in there? If it's a USA I want a warmoth rosewood one piece neck, and if it's a mex, would any of the road worn necks fit in there? Also, Idk how to post pics off my hard drive here lol

Well, let's see now......

You've just bought a pig in a poke.

You've provided only the sparsest of details, no photographs, and you wish to know how many pounds of ham, bacon, and pork chops it'll yield once butchered.

Yeah.

Sure.

Give Uri Geller a holler......he's pretty good at that whole "ESP" thing.

If the Serial number starts with an M, it's Mexican.

Neck exchange is no big deal in strats. Usually they all fit and can be exchanged between models.

Seem to recall there is a new surf green finish on the american special strat serial should start US12 or US13 which makes it american made. Post some pics or at least give us a clue on the serial number. Can't advise on the neck swop, i prefer maple necks.

I think what the OP is saying, is that he has a loaded body minus the neck.
I believe he is asking for tips to identify the origin of the body.

@roccoj20, I believe most Fender and Fender licensed Strat necks will fit most bodies.

Photographs would be very helpful.
You need to open a Photobucket account and upload your pictures there. Then you just copy the image code into your post. Photographs of the neck pocket and under the pickguard would be especially useful for identification.

Good luck
Goodonya ...Mark.

From the OP I'm not certain whether roccoj20 has a body with or without a neck. Surf Green has been used in several parts of the catalog in recent years. If we have a neck that will help a lot in ID'ing what it is. If it's just a bod we can still narrow it down a bit, though probably not all the way.

Whatever: more info please, roccoj20! :)

Cheers - C

Maybe he just bought the newly released American Special in Surf Green and wants to modify it?

Perhaps he was intimidated by us arrogant reprobates who had the unmitigated gall to ask for additional information so we could better assist him......?

At this point I'm more interested in the bacon, ham, and porkchops.
