I'm currently using 10's, if I put on a set of 9's, what adjustments will I have to make?

Thanks
Sean

New setup and most likely a new nut.

Downsizing to an .09 set is not too dramatic. A minor touch-up to the string-height screws and perhaps a check of the intonation may be all that's required. However, you may wish to re-adjust your trem claw if you find the bridge has too much "float" due to the decreased pressure of the lighter-gauge strings. As well, inspect the neck after the re-string to ensure you still have adequate neck relief.

Probably none!
009s to 010s shouldn't be a problem.

About 50% of my guitars came with 10s. I changed to 9s and everything was as it was before, no change.

Ok, I did a setup afterwards but that was merely a matter of personal preferences.

The first correction I had to do was after changing from 009s to 011s and from 009s to 013s (which I now use for slide).

The difference from 009s to 010s or vice versa is marginal.

I must say that I have my trem blocked! If floating, you'll have to correct spring tension as stated above.

EDIT: I'd like to add that I ONCE had to adjust the setup but that was on a cheap, crappy no-name asian copy. The neck was really "soft and flexible" and even reacted to minor temperature changes DRASTICALLY, so this is no valuable comparison.

Going from 10's to 9's, the only thing you'll really want to do is adjust the trem spring tension so that your bridge is parallel to the body. If you don't do that, then you'll most likely need to adjust your bridge height.

It's unlikely that your guitar will need a full setup. Truss probably doesn't need to be touched unless you already have excess relief.
