So this guy is selling what he claimes to be an american made strat. However, a few warning bells rang as I saw the pics and the guy wrote an email stating that he was unsure the body was genuine or not.
What do you guys think....http://www.vend.se/ad.php?150696 (page is in swedish)

It's all fake, the neck and the body. The back of the body wouldn't be all black, and the neck would have a walnut plug if it was american, plus there's a lot of other things not right.

I'm not an expert on American models but I'd tend to agree that it's a fake as well. Unless it's some kind of reissue, the bridge is wrong (newer Americans have the 2 point trem) and if it were a reissue, then the tuners are wrong...actually the tuners are wrong either way. What's really pulling my eye however is the truss rod insert...aside from that it should be walnut as others have already said, if you look closely at the pic, it looks like it was painted on and some of it rubbed off when they adjusted the truss rod.

It does look like a pretty nice guitar, but no...I don't buy it for a moment.

Just my own $.02 worth.

+1 Fake

There's more wrong than previously mentioned. Like the string trees and backplate screw holes. American Strats have roller string trees, and all "Fender" strats have staggered backplate screw holes.

I didn't mention The vintage style tremelo/bridge (as opposed to 2-point trem), no micro-tilt, or not saying Corona on the neckplate because there are some USA strats without, like maybe highway 1's and American specials.

The truss rod hole looks like black plastic as on the MIM standard series.
