The reason I ask is that most American guitars come with 22 fret necks an the Buddy Guy signature model only has 21.

Both out there - USA and Mexico.

All the best,

Seems Fender are deliberately keeping that information hard to find out (or not obvious anyway). I'm assuming Mexican as well now.

ive had a look on the photo 360 view and if you look at the back of the headstock the serial number begins with m and it looks as though it says made in mexico aswell, i dont really understand why they dont post the country of origin on the specifications but im sure they have their own reason for it :P

Sure, the actual model is made in Mexico. They had a USA model a few years ago (I don´t remember when).

All the best,
Robin

The USA Artist Series was introduced in 1995 and discontinued in 2010.

The USA Buddy Guy has 22 frets, Lace Sensor pickups and active mid boost electronics.
Discontinued since 2010.

+1
I have two of them (1995, two tone sunburst, were built until around 2010) and a 1996 in honey blonde (three years only, if I remember correct, so you don't see them very often).

Polka Dots are made in Mexico, that's right.

It only seems this way on the Artist series; most of the other USA-built series have "American" in the name - American Standard, American Vintage, etc.

Two ways you can tell the difference:

1. MIM standard production guitars have a model number that start with a "013"; USA standard production guitars have a model number that start with either a "011" or a "010" (FSR models have a different prefix - "014" for MIM and "017" for USA if I'm remembering correctly).

2. Look at the list price - if it is under $2K than its going to be MIM.
