Kinda looking at new guitars around 600.00 area. Saw some G&L videos on youtube like the comanche tribute,or a G&L Legacy Tribute HB, i also like the fender Lonestar deluxe series looking for a hss, also looking at a 2004 american strat, seen in the forum below. I'm A Richie Sambora fan and like his guitars as well if i could find a used signature strat would be awosome as well don't know if i would like the floyd rose system thou. If you've played these please let me know which one is the best value. I play al sorts of music i curently have a prs mark tremonti se with pickups the same pickups as the real deal. But i am looking for a single coil with some punch, i will be playing country, blues, rock, and oldie covers in a band real soon and would like another guitar. Thanks for any help.

A good used american strat is best value and will retain its value
I have played one of every model you mentioned G&L are great but Fender Americans are overall a better investment

Better investment, sure, thy keep re-sale value better--but what if, like me, someone is just buying it to play and has no plans of selling it?

I've played good & bad Fenders & good & bad G&L's
I'd go with the best one I could afford--whether it was Fender or G&L.

If you can get past the look of the G&L headstock and the bridge, you'll find G&L is a fantastic guitar. The 1A neck profile is a huge neck profile to which I'm a big fan of. However, I prefer Fender. Something about the classic shapes and designs I absolutely love.

G&L Tribute are made overseas, but unlike other brands using cheaper import electronics, G&L actually ships unloaded guitars to the states where they are fitted with the same electronics (pickups/pots/etc) as the American made counterparts. Also they do a final setup of the guitar in the states which I can remember if that includes a once over on the frets. In my book, much superior than any other guitar imported from the far East...
