But as you say, this bridge may be different. And for €29 he can afford to suck it and see, right? :)

There's so damn many bridges out there with ve-e-e-ery tiny differences!

Right! They're affordable.
In fact, I didn't have to adjust the tightening screw when I got it, it was a snug fit and it doesn't come off when tilting the guitar forward.

I used it for a while for testing. It's really great and works perfectly.
Since I usually don't use my trems, it's blocked now.

I assume that one has to re-adjust the screw every now and then? Can't tell, I didn't use it long enough as a floating trem.

Ah, you actually own it? Well then there ya go: it's a recommendation made from proper experience. Excellent.

So Simon has several options at different price points. Good job.

Folks,
To let you know what happened. I went for the Wilkinson Gotoh in the end, as recommended by several of you. Thanks. A great choice.
I now have a black American Standard Strat (rosewood neck) with DiMazios, the WG trem and a customised harness which does various things like S1 effects, tone bypass etc.
It's a smoking axe! Thanks for your advice.
It's a contrast to my other main Strat (again US Standard) which has a natural ash body, maple neck, standard electrics and Robert Cray Custom Shop pickups. I use this one for the blues, and the black one for the dirty stuff!!
Cheers,
Simon

PS
I bought the WG trem assembly from StewMac. Arrived in three days from the US to UK.
I broke one of the studs by not sourcing proper installation instructions. StewMac sent me a free replacement by DHL Courier, no questions asked. Really good service.
I buy my Gibson bits from Thomann in Germany. Good prices and brilliant service. I bought my FSR HSH Strat, my Martin, two of my Les Pauls and my Am Deluxe P Bass also from Thomann. The FSR HSH Strat arrived in tune!
All of my bodies and necks for partcasters (and my SGs) were bought on EBay and all arrived from the States in top condition and all were very well packed.
Simon
