Looks like it maybe a partsocaster with nice USA custom shop parts. The neck says "Blackie" but the body is 2 tone burst not black. The pups may or may not be custom shop pickups but are more than likely USA hand wound. It also as a aftermarket repro tone capacitor based on the 50s caps Fender used. The body apears to be a nos 56 but the bridge saddles are not stock for a 56 nos. That's what I've got, next.

The pups are supposed to be Brierly Australian handwound. Is there a way to tell?

Look up their pickups online and compare pictures of them with the pickups in your guitar.

The saddle is supposed to be a graphtech saddle and the knobs are bakelite.

Yep, I'd say what you have is a partsocaster with a custom shop Eric Clapton "Blackie" neck, a custom shop 56 nos body, aftermarket hand wound pickups, aftermarket tone capacitor, USA CTS pots, and an aftermarket bridge. Very nice guitar though.

Partscaster for sure. I believe a 56 NOS came with Fender 50s Custom Shop pickups.

A Clapton neck wouldn't come with an LSR nut.

Yeah the roller might have been added after the fact. Really looking to see if and what are non-faked parts.

It's definitely not a CS Clapton neck; they would have 22 frets with the modern truss rod adjustment at the headstock and this is a 21-fret neck with the truss rod adjustment at the heel. The CS doesn't put on the artist signature decal if the guitar deviates from the model's specs. Since that decal is questionable that puts this being a CS neck in question as well.

Yeah if you look at the other Blackie necks out there they have 22 frets. Also seems like they have Blackie on the front?

The EC necks from the custom shop are indeed 22 frets and the truss rod adjustment is at the headstock. this one supposedly has it at both ends. :?: The custom shop blackies do have the signature on the back, but they are 22 frets . I agree that the whole neck ( as well as the guitar ) is questionable .I would pass on this one for sure.

The production line ECs have the signature decal on the front of the headstock; the CS versions have them on the back of the headstock. Also only the black finish ECs (either production or CS) have that "Blackie" decal.

THIS ...... Is what a 56 Stratocaster New Old Stock should look like.

There shouldn't be any EC or Blackie stickers.
Clapton's Blackie is a mix of 1960's Strats, not the 50's

An NOS is exactly as it would have been made back in 56 as the Custom Shop uses the methods and some of the old tools that they still have from that era....

The 8th photo is definitely the nail in the coffin that this is not a 56 NOS, the roller nut is not a 50's item and I would bet my strats that the Custom Shop would never put it on a designated 56 NOS .... The truss rod plug at the head should also not be there. Also the decal is skewed, not acceptable from CS.
I'm not sure what you have here, but it is definitely NOT a 56 NOS like mine was ...
More than likely this was meant to deceive an unsuspecting buyer.... into paying a high price for a guitar which as it is may be worth tops $300 to $500 ....
