all i know is its a FSR HSS with humbuck pickup (no idea what the difference is :/)

is there anywhere i can register/ check authenticity?

dont think the tone & volume knobs are standard either :/

I have one of these also. They come with ceramic pickups. Mine came with a white tip trem bar instead of the expected black. Did you purchase new? if so the white knobs probaly are original. Fender seems to have used whatever what was in arms reach on some of these, otherwise very nice guitars.

I'll get some more pics up ASAP, it was a gift, used, brought quite recently, the serial starts mx12 but from what I've read on here they only run up to a mx11 so I'm worried now! The trem was missing :/

You have no worries, mine too has a serial number that starts MX12. Means it was made in 2012. Bought mine new from a authorized Fender dealer in September 2012. You're good to go. :)

Not all of these have the limited edition stamp on the back of the headstock like yours does. Mine does not have it.

was lead to believe from various sites there were only 1000 made of the FSR maybe that has something to do with it? could you post a pic of urs @minnesotastrats??
