I am really interested in this guitar, but a few things strike me as odd. For one, the wear pattern on it doesn't look right. Now I know that playing it would increase the wear, but would it wear that much in a year? The serial number also doesn't seem correct either. The way that the numbers were printed doesn't flow together like, at least how I think, it should. Can anyone prove or disprove me? Does anyone have any idea what that mark is to the left of the bridge?

Thanks a bunch!

Well, I can see what seems to be 6 symmetric holes for the missing backplate and a 7th one set off like in Mexican bodies.

Squier bodies use the symmetric layout.
I'm not sure, whether its a filled drilling hole or if it is just a small ding in the back, but it really LOOKS like a filled drilling hole symmetric to the one on the other side (I'm talking about the two middle screw positions of the neck plate).

A symmetric layout of the 6 screws would implicate a Squier body, mocked up with a Mexican neck.
The neck looks legit to me, even though I wonder about the strangely curved rosewood fretboard behind(!) the nut. Haven't seen that before, I guess.
The Serial looks ok, as does the logo in the front.
Pot knobs are not a matching set. At least one was exchanged (see color!).
Looks like there was another bridge installed, at least there's a drilling hole next to the bridge where there shouldn't be one.

I for myself suspect a partsocaster made from Squier and Fender parts. I would not bid.

It appears mostly legit to me. It looks like some additional relic work was done, possibly to make it look more unique. The worn places on neck and body do look exactly like the factory ones, with some additional wear added. The "Mexico" under the serial number was scraped off, but the serial number looks correct. That looks like an added "ding" instead of a screw hole for the back plate, it isn't quite straight across from the one on the other side as you would expect to find on a Squier. I think that the backwards F neck plate was added, they didn't come on the guitars originally. It also looks like the pup covers were changed, maybe even the pups themselves, as the middle pup cover should be worn on the edge closest to the low-E side. As pointed out, the middle knob has been replaced.

IMO, for that price, considering the obvious changes, it's a good deal even if the pups were replaced.
