We do not play with, but it protects the knight when it is at rest, and Leo had designed this thing so ...

I like the looks also, but be careful especially on the Tele. Pressure from the case can cause markes in the guitar's finish. I protect mine with with a little padded tape.

The pictures are deceiving, he is aging such as vibrato and tuners which gives the guitar a nice appearance
Some do not like, but it is a classic and I love the look when she sits, I removed only for play.

Yeah you can't palm mute with it on at all.

Precisely.

But with the cover in place it's readily apparent to all who truly know the Stratocaster that the instrument is equipped with the authentic Strat bridge as designed by Leo Fender -- not that blasphemous 2-point piece of crap or the equally heretical vintage-style "mini-bridge" initially produced for the cheap off-shore imports from Squire.

Mine came in today and I must say I like the looks of it. If your not big on palm muting it's not a big deal to play with it in place, that is unless you use the trem. It comes loose everytime I use the trem.

That's because there's been some "specification creep" over the years. A slight modification performed with a grinding bit and a Dremel tool is required to achieve an optimum fit that permits full tremolo operation with the cover in place......

I still find it necessary to remove it whenever I play though.

Haw, wow, that's sure pretty.
I never preferred the looks of 'em, until I saw this pic.
Very nice build.

One thing that is missing in this post...the playing styles of the Country and Western players that the Strat was designed and tested with could very easily use the trem with the cover on. Especially Bill Carson...if you have never seen him play, that cover didn't bother him a bit! When Leo designed the Strat he sure never figured it would be played the way it later was...or maybe he did, so hence the removableness (a new word!) of the cover...after all the man was a certified genious!

Yeah, this one just falls off on it's own as your playing. Looks cool on the guitar hanging on the wall but I'm glad I only paid the price of a cheap lunch on it.

Gently squeeze the front corners together using only your fingers and thumb, Britt. That should tighten up the fit sufficiently.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Bridge Covers (aka ashtrays, since that's what a lot of them ended up as) They do make a guitar beautiful. But unlike the bass version, the guitar ones aren't screwed down. I wouldn't take it on stage, let alone on the road. More than likely it will fall off at the worse possible moment, and end up as a souvenir for a fan. Worse than the Strats, the Tele one has a tendency to get pushed down too far and make string buzz. They're really only good for admiring on a stand or wall -- well that and publicity photos.
