Alright so I'm planning on building a "frankencaster", I like the big head stock and I've seen a few American made ones on ebay that are dated around 2006. My question is will this fit on any say mid 1990's to current production American Stratocaster bodies? I see that the neck has "extended" as I',m not sure of the terminology here but the fret board extends just a tad (does this description make sense?). I plan on running a David Gilmour EMG set up on the body so a few of the "stripped" American bodies are found at a great prices and I'd have a pretty sweet guitar with awesome parts for a good price, but am not sure if it'll all go together. Thanks,

James

Oh!! Another question, I remember the stratocater a friend of mine had, I believe a 2005 standard, and the bridge was held in place by two posts (screws) and the ones I've seen lately have gone back to the traditional 6 screw, am I just not seeing them or were there any problems encountered with those and they've stopped production?

Hi schaz42,

Most Fender Strat necks will fit most Fender Strat bodies, especially between MIM and MIA it shouldn't be a problem. The extension is for an extra fret and doesn't interfere with the neck fit at all as the extension is only the fretboard. They still make both 6-screw and 2-screw bridges, it just depends on the model. The 2-screw gives better tuning stability with whammy use compared to the 6-screw.
