Hi, this is my first post!!!

I'm italian and i own a '93 STRAT PLUS DELUXE (Serial Number N389661) that my father brought to italy from United States.

I would like to sell it to buy a new one and i was wondering if you can help me.

The guitar is all original, no scratches.

I tried to go to a local shop to evaluate it...... they told me that they can find a new one (are these guitars still in production???) for 900 € and that they colud give me 500€. I don't think it's an honest evaluation..... what do you think?

Thank in advance.

Matteo

That converts to $775 USD at today's exchange rate. What do the rest of you think about a '93 Strat Plus Deluxe for that money in the states let alone Europe. For a trade in it may not be bad, but I'm not much into the valuation thing.

Matteo, you might want to keep your eye on eBay and see what comparable axes are going for. Keeping in mind that you are essentially trading yours in so you will get less for it than if you were to sell it outright to another user.

BTW - Why would you want to sell it to get another? What about it don't you like?

Thank you for your suggestione, I will surely ollow them.

I haven't finally decided to sell it , i'm evaluating various possibilities: I would like a guitar with a faster neck, 24 frets and a floyd rose style bridge.
I usually play satriani, vai and mostly dream theater.
I tried the music man petrucci and it is awesome but I don't have enough money to buy it, so i'm planing to sell my fender..... but my heart bleeds....
Even if I never had a good feeling with the neck, it's hard to give this baby away.

Maybe I will keep it and continue playing her till I will have enough money to buy the music man.... we will see.

Now I would like to know how much it values.

Thanks

That advice about E-Bay is good... you could try www.craigslist.com too for prices.
I have never traded a guitar in to a dealer that I later wished I kept.
I would keep that Strat and save your money for your next Honey!! :D
Here in the States you're lucky if you get 1/2 of new cost; the dealer wants to sell your axe and make money on it too; so you'll get more money if you sell it yourself.
