The products page now lists Mystic Red and Mystic Blue for the Am Std and Surf Green for the SSS Am Special. I wonder if Mystic Red is a metallic color or is it a solid color?

Distinguishing colors is not my strong point - my wife would say I'm color challenged - but doesn't the new Mystic Red look an awful lot like the old standard Candy Apple Red ? Has MR replaced CAR for the 2012 American Standards?

As for metalic or solid, from the picture I'd say solid but then again it could just be the picture.

Yep, true!

Candy Apple Red remains an option for the American Special. Originally offered on the Strat SSS, this colour is now available for the HSS models, too.

Fender offered a Candy Apple Red American Standard as a part of their Factory Special Runs. Mystic Red is new for 2013.

Chromeface, I wish you hadn't posted the surf green strat, now I have gas for it!

+1 for the green, but i'm also color blind, and it looks grey to me....

Unfortunately there are no new colour options for the American Deluxe Series.

It would be great if all guitars would be grey for me. Well, it is a shade of white in the end.

That specimen is gorgeous! If you don't mind my asking, is this guitar an AVRI or was she put together using select parts? In particular I am curious about the body. There are so many variants of surf green but this is the shade that is "just right".
