Greetings,
New to the forum, looking for a couple answers please.

The Questions:
1.) I'm trying to determine the body & neck tone-woods for my axe. I understand that there were several variations with this particular model. 21 Frets.com gives a ton of info, but hell, I can't seem to distinguish one grain of wood from the other (I thought Sen looked the closest to it).
2.) It appears to be a three-piece body, but could be wrong. Just need some opinions from someone with better eyes.

The Guitar:

NOTE: Previous Owner(s) had equipped this guitar with a Floyd Rose Locking System and EMG Active P/U's, which of course, are not original accessories from the factory.

According to 21frets.com: http://www.21frets.com/squier_jv/jvdetails_1.htm
and personal observation of neckplate #'s & headstock logos, guitar identified as following:

- First Issue '62 Stratocaster JV Squier Series
- Manufactured (in or around) 06/1982
- 3 Tone Burst Color
- First Issue Headstock Logo & Serial's

The Pictures:

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Peace, Love & Rock My Friends

BTW -
Would be curious to see some replies from owners of models very close or identical to this one, as it is considered of the rarest for the era. As for tone, playability, & overall quality, I don't think there's too many models out there in its caliber. Should have came with a warning sticker for being addictive :-) Would like to dedicate a post to this model soon.

Found this on Wikipedia

Squier models (1982–today)
Main article: Squier

After Fender's decision in 1982 to switch Squier's production from strings to guitars, the Stratocaster was one of the first models put under the Squier production line in Japan. It was the most commercially successful guitar Fender had produced. Originally in 1982, the headstock had a "Fender" name written in large script, followed by "Squier series" in smaller script. In 1983, this was later changed to the current 1970s large headstock featuring "Squier" in larger script, followed by "by Fender" in smaller script. Since then, there have been several variations of headstock size and Squier logos, typically based on what series the guitar is.

In 2000, for the anniversary of the Squier line of Stratocaster guitars, that year's model was offered in a limited-edition green finish.

In 2008 Squier released its Classic Vibe series, a series of electric guitars and basses mirroring classic Fender designs of the 1950s and 1960s—each roughly reflecting the hardware, woods, color variations, finishes, body contours, and tonal characteristics of their respective era; Squier states that they didn't intend the series as completely era correct, but wanted to impart the 'vibe' of a classic Fender design—the vintage-quality feel, look, and sound of their first series of guitars in 1982.

By all accounts , they were excellent guitars . Yours is a 3 piece body (sorry can't help with the wood)
You have a Kahler trem on there ( a friend of mine had a two knob strat, jack socket on the pickguard from the eighties that was originally a hardtail , he had a kahler and he reckoned that set up correctly, they are solid )

The grain looks real nice on it, but can't be sure from the photos if it's ash or not. Also, love those tuners. Very nice guitar!
