I'm picking up some SRV vibes from that. Don't know why, but I'll bet if he was around he'd like it. Nice work.

I sense where you're coming from there Drew. It has a kind of a Tex-Mex vibe....also echoes of the Waylon Jennings Telecaster. A black guard with white pup covers and controls should set off the art work. The white guard leaves a blank canvas. Doing the entire guitar as suggested might be too busy.

I really dig this. It's a cool project and your artwork is impressive.

I'm getting a Trevor Rabin Strat kind of vibe out of it.

Are you going to clear-coat the artwork somehow to prevent it from rubbing off on your arms and hands while you play?

I usually do not like drawings, signatures or stickers on a guitar, but this looks absolutely fantastic. Great job Smokin' Frets! I like the plain white pick guard, it really focuses the attention on the artwork and provides great contrast (maybe black pup covers, knobs and switch tip). BTW, reminds me of paisley.

That looks great! Definitely keep going. I think I would vote for keeping the white pick guard also.

Yes, but black trem, black pu covers, black knobs, black tuners.

Looks good to me! Do the whole guitar. Not sure about the black pickguard tho. Gotta see what it looks like on there. Lovin the way it looks with the white one 8)

Thank you, Tony.
Sorry, misunderstanding. The white pg stays, everything else will be black.

Yes, I'll clearcoat it, Dunzie.
Thanx for your positive comment. :)

Now THAT is gonna be one sexy custom strat. Definitely finish up the back and sides of the guitar! Have you thought about doing something in the same style to the neck to match it to the body?

Nope, but somebody suggested doing a fretboard. That sounded interesting.

No, I don't think I'll do a headstock.

Good idea. Take her body, take her neck, but leave the headstock to Fender. :)

Looking forward to seeing the progress!

Cheers!
