I have a 2010 American Standard in Olympic white, white pick guard and a rosewood neck
I would like to change the pick guard to a black but was concerned about effecting value
Can someone tell me if changing the pick guard will effect value?
:D

It isn't going to hurt the value, and they're really simple to change too. Just hang on to the original one and switch it back later if you want to. There's a lot of cool colored ones out there, check out the ones on www.warmoth.com, use their guitar builder on their website, build the guitar to match yours currently and then change the Pickguard and see which color you like best.

Seanboy is right. You can change the pickguard and it wont effect the value. It's just preference and like he said hold onto it (in case you decide to sell it then it will appeal to more people having an option of pickguards). I'm not a fan of anything ,but white or parchment pickgaurds unless it's on a butterscotch telecaster or a blacked out stratocaster then I like black pickguards and on no other color.

Make sure the new pickguard is compatible with your guitar without the need to drill additional mounting holes in the body.
