I posted this a while back and didn't get any feedback so I thought I would try again. I'm very interested in this strat. However, none of my local stores have it and I would really like to try it out. I know they are available online. I'm Just wondering if any of my fellow stratsmen own or have tried one. 8)

I owned one that I recently traded for an American Tele. Mine was a 2006 model. Great guitar, but I had a bad jones for a Tele and I decided I wanted a new American Standard Strat instead.

No complaints about the guitar, played and sounded good and looked fantastic - just wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I think the mahogany gives it a bit of a warmer/darker tone but it's not to be compared to a Les Paul type sound - totally different voice. I found the S1 switching to be a nice touch depending on what sound I was going after.

I bought mine at GC, but I'm pretty sure that Musicians Friend carries them.

i played one at the guitar center in pensacola, Florida. nice action on the neck (if you like a meaty neck). I played it through one of those crate solid state amps and it sounded off nicely. some dark tone on the bridge pickup great for metal and a crunchy clean sound on the neck pick up. not as heavy as i thought it would be but it is a all around good tone and playability. hope that helps!

Hello Murdochart,

I've never seen one live,

Cheers.

I'm going to buy one from either GC or Sweetwater online, I'll check it out and if I like it cool if not I'll send it back and update this post.
