Just trying to decide if mine is faulty or not.
The tone control (middle knob) doesn't seem to do much!
On the older guitars i have (also EC electrics) it goes from muddy/bassy to super trebley, but those guitars are fitted with Lace Sensors.
On the new one I can run it with the tone fully off and it's still quite vibrant, with what sounds like TBX being added after 5+ on the control.
Totally different to the other EC spec guitars I have.
Suspect it may have to go back again for a fix! unless this is right for VN pups.

Is there any difference as you go through the control. Does the treble increase or decrease?

Yes there's an increase but it's very minor.

So the control is working. It could be the capacitor failed, it could just be your eq settings. You need a hands on 2nd opinion.

i took my tbx out and put in a 250k pot with a .022uf cap. the tbx just wasn't getting it done for me. i have read that e.c. has no tbx on his stat and only has it on his strats he plays slide on. the 250k pot warms up the guitar and still can get trebly when you roll it up. it gives you more control over the tone, boosted or not.
