I currently replaced the pickups on my 64 reissue strat with texas special pickups. I set everything up only to find out that the neck position produced a very feint sound. When I say this, I had to turn my amp up to 8-9 to get a feint sound(nothing that could play with drums), and if I switched to the middle position it was ear splitting loud. I proceeded to disconnect the pickup and test the continuity and resistance. I got a reading and I also tested the pickup separately to the amp by touching the hot and ground cables to the guitar cord tip. I am not sure what to do next rather than take it to a shop. If anyone has had a similar problem just let me know. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you've connected the pickup straight to the cable (isolated crocodile clips come handy...) and you still get no or minimal sound, the pickup is most likely damaged.
Hope you bought them new and can get a replacement within warranty.

You got a reading !! What do you read ? Around 6 to 7 K ohms or 600K.....?
