whats causing the noise in it? it sounds like a static/electricity.
and it gets even noisier when i switch to bridge pickup. even if im away with my computer, amplifier and any electronics, theres still noise. the noise is gone when i touch any metal part of my guitar (nuts, strings, bridge and many more).
i even use noiseless cable but its not working..

and also.. sometimes i can feel something ticklish on the string when i bring my finger tips slowly to the strings but it doesnt hurt.. it feels like vibrating.. i think its static electricity?

My guitar is a squire strat and amp is mustang II.

Hello,

1- Does the noise go when you take a "two Pickup" position on the switch?

2- Ground, ground, ground... is your equipement connected to a well grounded power source
( easy to verify with a cheap electrical tester, find to to your hardware store near you)

3- Again with electrical, is there anything connected directly to the computer? To record?
( If yes, try to provide the power from the same source off the wall ) Sometimes Phase in electrical outlet can differ from one to another in your house.

4- Take only your guitar and amp, go to another room and try it.

Welcome to the joys of single coils... However, I'd also check the ground lead going to the tremolo claw, connecting to the last pot. If the hum goes away when you touch the bridge, that sounds like a ground problem. Otherwise, its part of having a single coil love. I replaced my American Standard single coils with Dimarzio Areas. Best single coil sounding pickups I've played, either noiseless or standards (comparison included Vintage Noiseless, Hot Noiseless, N3, Texas Specials, '69 CS, Tex-Mex, and Seymour Duncan APS-2)

I agree with DetroitBlues, all mentioned are great gear, I personnally tried the Fender vintage Noiseless, and the Dimarzio. Depending on the amount of "gain" you ask of your strat you can really enjoy those, However on my part I found those Pup were reproducing quite well the Strat Sound but I found those a little too "compressed" for my usage, again I insist, those are amazing Pup if you need to reduce the noise produced by High gain usage... I play low gain with High Volume right now and when I started in the band I was using the "vintage Noiseless" My strat was just dissapearing in the band.. Went back to the original AlnicoV Pups of my Standard Strat and now my sound realy pop out as desire... Again it always depend of your usage, amp configuration, etc... if you do a lot of studio work, or play "High gain" DetroitBlues recommandations are "on the nose"!! I always say: You got to adjust to what you play...And how you play it... ;-)
