I recently purchased on eBay, as advertised:
Fender American strat BODY ; late 80's, rare maple body, 3-color sunburst. It has a swimming pool route (universal).

Did Fender make any strat bodies out of solid maple, not maple caps?

I can't say with absolute 100% certainty because Fender sometimes does out of the ordinary production runs that most people never hear about but I really don't think so. Not solid maple anyway. I'd say off the top of my head whatever you're looking at is prolly a Fotoflame.

Sorry, it just doesn't sound right to me.

Thanks Rock Star. After digging a little more on the worldwidewebs I turned up Gavin Rossdale using a solid maple Strat Plus AND all Strat Pluses have the swimming pool route...
