Black for sure, it goes well with the wood grain, and the pups.

+1 Absolutely :!: :!:

That grain is beautiful. Is it African mahogany?

Cheers!

Interesting. I'll be the first to admit I like the gold one.

Alas, the hardware requires no attention while playing, anyway.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Definitely black - matches the overall look of the guitar better

I have to go with the minority - I like it the way it was. Now if the guitar was black, too...

I'd be happy with either - as others have said, the grain is gorgeous. I think the black goes well with the darker figuring, the gold better with the overall tone of the wood (colour tone... before anyone goes off on 'tone mission')

Perhaps a slight preference for the black though - it's got a bit more "grrrr", and I dig grrrr.

Black for me too. It goest with the grain better and matches the pickups, etc.

Your Showmaster is chok full of Reb Beach vibe.

If you put a set of EMGs you'll be able to nail his tone. :)
