Hello, I just got my first strat. I havent familiar with the sound. in my ear, i dont get a sustain, especcially for 1-2 strings, eventhough i use the same distortion effect guitar that i compare with another local guitar brand.. I've set the pick up as the this site suggested. is my strat normal?

You say you have 'set the pickup', but have you also done a full setup:
Strat Setup Guide

Also, try different pickup heigths, the recommendations are just guidelines.

Is that a new or used guitar? Nut, frets, bridge OK or worn? And watch how you press the strings; playing "on top of the fret" (partly muting the string) can kill the sustain.

If its setup right and the tremolo is sturdy, it should be fine. An unblocked tremolo does suffer from some loss of sustain. Try adding another spring and see what happens.
