A few questions about my Stratocaster Plus since i am thinking of selling it to put money some money towards a new Custom Shop Strat,i am wanting to advertise it correctly....

First,i bought this about maybe 5 years ago from eBay..been an AWESOME sounding and Playing guitar...

The serial numbers on back of headstock start with N596,according thr fender dating page, that puts it at either a 1995 or 1996....

It has the Pearloid pick gaurd..

Fender Lace sensors combo...
Red @ Bridge
Gold @ middle
Blue @ neck

It has the locking tuners, lsr roller nut, locking bridge..and the tone pot known as the DLX pot?....when in middle position it kind of locks in.

It is the really pretty 2 tone blue, very dark blue outline of body fading into a medium dark blue inside the body...

How do i tell which year it actual is?..take the neck or pick gaurd off and see if there is actual build dates in there?...

Anywhere i have seen online any of these years Strat plus's they had the red/silver/blue fender lace sensors...mine has the red/gold/blue...is this correct for it?..or did someone put the gold in it?....

I've already got a few "lowball offers'..i pretty much told them they are wasting my time..lol

Thanks for any help, just wanting to advertise it correctly without anyone trying to say i sold them a fake or mis-represented or something like that....
John

Sounds like you already know the answers, although I cannot vouch for the value of your instrument, perhaps someone from the same country as you live may have more of an answer for you.

The colour is blue burst, alder body with ash veneer. Red, silver and blue lace sensors and the tone control is what they call 'TBX'.

As for offers, you have to appreciate that as eBay is concerned, bidders WILL low-ball on the price. Also, you cannot expect to sell at a premium either as it is not one of those instruments that will command a high price due to its popularity. What the market pays, is what you will get. Try to see what others in your area are going for

OK,so none of these came factory with the Gold sensor in the middle?..whats the difference between the regular Plus and a Deluxe Plus?.

I haven't put it on Bay....those low ball offers were from some "so called" collectors in my area trying to make a profit on re-sell..1 offered me 400..the other offered me 500....while they had MIM models they were selling for that much...lol....

But i had a music store offer me 650.00....

But,as i said,..i was just trying to represent this thing as best as i could before advertising it anywhere

First of Xhefri's the man on the ins-and-outs of the Strat Plus/Plus Deluxe/Ultra models so hopefully he'll also answer you.

For a Strat Plus Deluxe of that year you should have the blue/silver/red logo Lace set. It could be that an owner somewhere down the line didn't care for the silver logo Lace in the middle and replaced it with a gold logo Lace. I suppose it's also possible that it was a slip-up at the Fender factory and the pickguard they put on this Strat was assembled with a gold logo Lace instead of a silver logo Lace.

Being that this is a 1995/96 era you could contact Fender's Consumer Relations ( consumerrelations@fender.com ) and they should be able to provide the date it was completed and/or shipped out to the original dealer if you don't feel like taking it apart to check for neck and body dates.

During their first production years, Deluxe Strat Pluses sported two Silver Lace Sensors in the middle/neck and a Blue Lace Sensor in the bridge. They were shipped with an American 2-point bridge, with the Deluxe pop-in type being a common feature between 1989 and 1993.

The change to the blue/silver/red combo coincided with the introduction of the Floyd Rose-designed deluxe locking bridge assembly in 1991.

which stands for Treble Bass Xpansion.

This is not an active tone control and should not be confused with MDX (Midrange Xpansion) which is an active midrange booster!
