Hey All,

I was in my local guitar shop yesturday and plugged into a 59 fender Bassman RI. It sounded great but it made me wonder..... Is there a significant difference between the reissue and the original Bassman other the the obvious price tag?

Then my second question that is semi related to the first is. Is the fender Hot Rod Deville III
compirable amp as far as versatility to the bassman seeing as it has the same 6L6 tubes and 12AX7 preamp tubes?

Just to eliminate any confusion I am talking about the deville 410 not the 212.

Thanks for any input that you can give.

Dave.

This is the very highly debatable issue... Modern Fender amps (with exception of some high priced models, such as the Eric Clapton series), the amps are PCB board micro component based. The circuit design is similar but uses components that aren't the same. Some claim a vintage style, point to point, hand wired amp sounds better than a computer printed board many of the sub $1,000 tube amps. Yes it is a tube amp, but there is some differences in the modern design versus the original specs.
