yes you're true :p)
But I can't afford a strat + a Les Paul and I'm satisfied for the moment with the playabilty of the strat and my guitar skills.
I'm able to produce lots of differents tones from pure clean to distorded ones.
I'm sure one of this days, I need to put my hands on a Paul just to play it, but I'm not a fan of distortion and heavy sounds......

I'm not a collector too, there's nothing much more wrong for me to collect guitars. They are made to be played.

Personally I like both, Gibson has the dark, moody tone, but they are ungodly expensive. fender is affordable and is easier to change pickups and to wire them.

Gibson/Fender, Strat/Tele I play all and love them all. They each have a quality all their own.

The funny part is if you go on the Gibson forum and look at their Les Paul picture's thread. You will find many pictures of Fenders included. Yet there are not to many Gibsons on our pictures thread. It just makes you think.

To me, Gibson and Fender have always been like ebony and ivory.

Most recordings I've done that have more than one rhythm guitar are Strat/Tele on the right, and LP/135/SG on the left. Perfect harmony.

I have to agree with a lot of you guys It all just depends on what tone you're wanting

Gibson- Big, Beefy, loud and a lotta Crunch

Fender- Sweet, Fast, (equally) loud
