I've seen you guys argue over wood varieties, poly, nitro, thickness of finish. Who wants to guess how a gold leaf guitar sounds? Apparently EC played one of these and then auctioned it for $455K.

An acquaintance of mine has one of those -- sounds just like his other Clapton Strats. Gold leaf is super-thin -- even with the adhesive to stick it to the primer coat and the clear poly topcoat the total finish isn't any thicker than normal finishes.
