I bought my lovely man a Fender back in 2007. It has a serial number on it Z6022315 and is marked made in USA on the headstock.
My reason for this post is that I was told that Z indicated it had been made in China. Is this true?

Absolutely not true. Unless California is part of China now. :)

You can call Fender to confirm, but that serial number looks legit to me for a 2006 Am Strat.

The "Z" in the serial number equates to "0" so the serial number lines up with 06 and this numbering was used on US made instruments. You most definetly have what you thought you had.

The guitar you bought is actually a 2007, the neck needs to be changed out to reflect this. So please send it to me, I will pay all postage. (haha...teasing)

The reason I'm answering is I actually bought the same thing in 2007. Mine is serial number Z6111### (you get the idea). According to the Fender website, it is a 2006.

Is mine still considered a 60th anniversary though even though it doesn't have the 60th bling?

No. As pointed out previously, Z6 can be 2006 or 2007 and the "bling" differentiates the two years.
