Sir, that is one pretty strat! I bought mine(after years of wanting one as well) from a guy here locally after I had been checking them out on craigslist, at guitar center, and everything else I could get my hands on to see if I liked it. I stopped by this guys house after work who I had contacted off of craigstlist and then after playing the strat for about 5 minutes I KNEW it was the one I was going to start with :) Felt great in my hands and loved the sound. Everything is stock except the pickguard which was put on before I purchased it. I love the look of it anyways, might get a white one anyways though down the road. She is a 2008 american standard. The first of many loved strats to never leave my possession! Image

I most certainly have the bug. I know have 5 guitars all together with eyes on several more in the coming months and years. Next I need a Tele.

Not long got mine out of its case after most of that time*. Could I really have not TAKEN THE PLASTIC OFF THE PICKGUARD???!

This is pure guitar porn!
What a beautyful axe! I always loved the candy cola / maple neck combination!!

The plastic film is just for protecting the pickguard from scratches before it gets sold.
Peel it off! Please, do not just rip it off, it will leave visible rests around the screws of the pickups and pots.

If you want to do it right, the best way is to take it out, remove pots and loosen screws and then pull off the plastic film.
At least I would pull off the control knobs, loosen the nut holding the pots in place and pull the film off.
