Post subject: Got My first Fender Strat!

Hey guys got my very first Fender Strat, 2012 American Standard Strat Candy Cola w/Maple fretboard. Now I have a what may be a slightly dumb question.

There is the american standard sticker on the pick guard and what looks to be a thin plastic sheet on the pick guard that is a bit bubbled in some spots. Should i just peel off that thin layer or leave it? does it have any affect on the guitar sound? and lastly what is the easyist way to peel it off if I should do so?

This guitar is very special to me as I have wanted one ever since i was a child and finally got one and want to take the best care of it as possible.

Congrats on the strat. Yes, remove the plastic film on the pickguard. If you leave it on for a couple of years it can be a bear to remove sometimes. I found out the hard way.

Yes, film off. Some people leave the sticker on the pickguard ..... don't be one of those people :lol: You can remove it carefully and keep it on a piece of waxed paper.
Congratulations on the new Strat. I believe that photos are compusory :wink:
