I like 21 frets, because it help me reach the 6th note of the string at the end of neck (if I played in E key, the note in 21st fret is C#)

21 frets
1. I usually don't go past 19
2. I don't like the fretboard overhang

22 frets

I was looking at getting another guitar. But many of them stopped at 21 frets.
So they were out of the running.

I'll not buy another guitar with only 21 frets. 22 frets,or more, for me.

I personally like 24 frets cause it gives me more options in making songs and i like it better for different solos.

21 frets is fine for me now that I don't learn solo's off of records note for note...... it would tick me off when I tried to learn a solo that exceeded the 21st fret though :@ aha

Hello Leonardusnn,

No preferance here, I never play up
that high, but I do think the overhang
adds a nice industrial evolvement.

Cheers.

22 frets was one of the features I was hunting for when I bought my guitar.

I wouldn't mind a 24 fret strat just to play the sole from Money right.

Times I saw the Floyd Gilmour always played Money on a Strat with 22 frets. I don't remember if he went past top D, but if he did I guess he bent up to it.

Somebody out there will likely know which guitar he recorded Money on. The Gilmour Strat, the one I believe Fender will be doing as his sig guitar, is the black one with black pickguard, white knobs and Duncan pups. For many years now it has had a maple neck with 21 frets. Do we hear that one on Dark Side?

Live on Another Brick he definitely went all the way to the very top of the dusty end: top D.
