Does anyone know if the Showmaster Strat was ever produced with a Maple fretboard? All the ones Iv'e seen were rosewood. I know Showmasters were also Custom Shop productions, but those seem to be quite pricey. I was wondering if the regular production ones ever had maple fretboards. Thanks :?:

Highway One, MIK and Squier Showmasters were all featured with a rosewood fretboard.

Only the Custom Shop versions sported a maple fretboard.

Discontinued since 2009.

Yea I was afraid of that. The Custom Shop ones are expensive. I just didn't know since it was a set through neck, it was possible to keep the fretboard maple.

Thanks for the link. Only prob is that these are the Squire models that had 22 fret bolt on necks. I'm looking for the Koren 24 fret set through neck. But I appreciate the info. :D

Yup, looking for a Showmaster with a Maple fretboard though. Don't know if they actually made one. Seems like only bolt on are maple fretboards.

It's not the Squire version but a moderately priced variant of the Custom Shop models. Squire Showmasters came with 24 frets, a variety of bridges and pickup configurations and a reverse headstock.

Fender stopped making Showmasters since 2009, sorry :?

Never saw one with a maple neck either... They were meant to compete with Les Pauls and PRS guitars I'd imagine...

The Showmasters were Fender's first successful attempt to compete with other superstrat makers such as ESP, Ibanez, Fernandes and Yamaha.

That's a Custom Shop Strat, doesn't count... They'll make you anything if you are willing to pay for it.

It's not a Strat, but a Showmaster Standard.
