Tortoise shell is so overdone on Strats. There should be a ban on them for the next ten years. That black with red is a nice look.

The NTSPA [National Tortoise Shell Pickguard Association]is likely to lobby heavily against such a ban. They have very strong representation in these Forums and are heavy contributors. I fear you may just have to tolerate the continued use of that material by FMIC. :wink:

I was hoping to get away from the traditional look, yet still keep it looking sharp. Almost every black strat you see has a white Pickguard, I wanted something different.

I like the red tortoise one much better and you don't see them very often either.
Don't switch back to the white one!
