OK, guys, my 2006 American Strat was delivered safe and sound.

Now, I have work to do. The seller left bits of the plastic film under the knobs. What's the best way to remove the plastic?

Also, I'll soon be taking delivery on a 2007 American Tele, too. Since neither the Strat nor the Tele has the original tools, I'd like to get a set for each. As far as I can tell, both call for a .050" hex wrench for saddle adjustments and a 1/8" hex wrench for truss rod/neck adjustments. Is this correct? Are there any other sizes needed?

Thanks for the help.

I just bought a new American Standard Strat - I just gently lifted the knobs up with a small flat blade screw driver using a soft cloth to avoid scratching anything and worked the plastic out and trimming the excess gently with a small razor blade - that plastic can sure be a pain to remove though!

On the tools - I have a cool little multi-purpose unit called the "Guitool" it works great - kinda like the guitar players swiss army knife, has several allen wrenches, flat & phillips screw drivers and a string cutter (that I don't use). The allen wrenches fit every guitar I've had.

Yep, I've seen those. At $20 or so, a tad expensive, since I'm putting these tools in both the Strat case and the Tele case. I've checked online for the wrenches and you can pick them up for a $1-2 apiece. If all else fails, then Guitool here I come! ;-) Thanks.

My last American Series Strat came new in 2005 with five allen keys. The sizes are: .050 thou; 3/32; 1/16; 1/8; and 3/16.

Different sizes for saddle height adjustment; truss rod; neck Micro-Tilt adjuster; and, er...
