Hello there,

I'm stephen from Brussels (Belgium) and I have a question about Jimmy Vaughns stratocaster:

Is the Jimmy VAUGHNS signature stratocaster (white colour) "tex-mex" built in the USA or in Mexico?

Someone have the answer?

Thanks...

Stephen

It's a Mexican Strat with a lot of American parts, just assembled in Mexico. Try one, you'll love it.

Most of the Mexican instruments I've played have been very impressive--especially for the money. (I own--and play--an hecho-en-Mexico classic Telecaster. The factory in Ensenada is putting out some really high-quality stuff.

Jimmie Vaughan, when touring, usually plays a mostly stock version of his signature model. However, on special gigs he will pull out his beat-to-Hades old 1956 Stratocaster. Interestingly enough, his old Strat has a replacement neck--in the late 70s/early 80s, the original neck was messed up and Charley Wirtz (of Charley's Guitar Shop in Dallas) replaced the neck with an aftermarket version.

But at Crossroads-Dallas, Mr. Vaughan was playing one of his Mexican Signature models--a sunburst one.

I was there at the Cotton Bowl that day...if you look VERY closely on the DVD....you STILL won't see me, but you'll be entertained 8) .
