picked this up from a friend. from the serial number on the back of the neck its a 1986 mij. Here is the odd thing. Single Humbucker with one volume knob and a Floyd Rose bridge. I cant find even a picture of one online and i wanna figure out if anyone knows anything about it and can maybe even tell me what its worth. Its in almost perfect condition except one little ding.

Except for it being a 1986, it sounds like a Tom Delonge strat.

To get pictures here
Download this and save it to favourites/bookmarks

http://tinypic.com/

Start post in Fender forum, when ready for picture (which should always be started on a new line), click "browse" and upload pic to tinypic

Alter default size to "message board 640x480" and upload pic

When uploaded, left click the second one down, "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards"

That will then turn black

Right click it and copy

Come back here and paste, exactly like this (don't forget on a new line to centralise your pic )

Image

and another one

According to Guitardaterproject.com, your guitar was made in the Fuji-gen plant for Fender Japan 1985-1986. Not much but a place to start. I believe it is a model 27-4400 one humbucker, rosewood fingerboard side mount jack and system 1 tremelo.

Minnesotastrats has it - that's one of the MIJ Contemporary models from 1985-1986; they came out right after FMIC bought Fender from CBS.

Nickcanger - that's the Fender System 1 trem on it, not a Floyd Rose.

No affiliation with this site, but there is more info on them here:

This guy's specific page on the Contemporary series is here:
