I bought this Strat used as a projectguitarr. I wound up replacing the tremolo, nut and chipguard complete with threehottStewartt-MacDonald pickups and top-shelf wiring/pots/switch. As I made the changes I got everything in black because I thought the parchment chipguard looked like fender was doing horrible things to accordions or something.
Anyway, I love the look and the new sound (TONS of sustain and volume) and I put a story together about it at the link below.

Very nice looking guitar. I just started liking them in all black myself. Also just point it out and I'm not being a jerk. You put fall instead of all in this part:

"While looking at parts to hop the Fender Standard Stratocaster® up I began noticing that fall of the parts I was considering were available in black. "

I figured you'd like to know since people will be reading it :) Again nice guitar :D

Nice job tomhintz, looks very cool. 8)

I thought about getting a black bridge and jack plate, but I like the chrome with the rest of the black parts, kinda sets it off. Maybe black tuners though..... :?:

Nice job on the guitar.

This is about as close as I have come to a blackout...

I never could find a good black jack plate and I would prefer a black Fender tremolo. Oh, well.

The Edge has an all-black Strat with a large headstock.
