Anyone know if Fender ever produced a MIA Strat with the 13 pin synth jack.
Looking to get one to play with my new GR-55.

Thanks Folks !

I'm thinking that Fender did briefly have an American Standard Strat with the Roland Synth gear in it back in the 1990s. If my memory is correct that only lasted for about 2 years before it was discontinued and replaced with an MIM version.

I could be wrong and just mis-remembering when the MIM Standard Roland-Ready first came out in the 1990s.

Thanks for the quick response.
I saw some one advertising a 1995 with the 13 pin jack and what they indicate is a factory Roland pick-up.
So that would be consistent with your recollection.

Thanks again.

Great forum. Just started buying fenders. Three so far (MIA Tele, MIM Strat, MIJ 12 String Strat)

So I've covered most of the globe....

Nothing vintage though....

Now if I could only play well......

Just as a random point, I've been messing around with guitar synths for years, and it's usually the cheaper guitars which end up being the better ones for synth use, so don't turn your nose up at a MIM - in fact the best tracking GK-1 equipped guitar I ever had was a cheap plywood bodied Strat knockoff!

I imagine it's something to do with the overtones and harmonics being more muted with a less resonant body, so it's easier for the software in the synth to lock onto the fundamental note. As long as it's able to be set up with decent intonation and stays in tune, pretty much anything will do.
