You mean like THIS:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2eiP12hQQY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fv ... Jp2iA&NR=1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2t5CpIM ... ure=relmfu

Watchem all it's sad :C I don't think that will happen so long as we are cutting down/re-growing tree's.People for the most part rejected that thing xD Guitars are pretty much at a standpoint with how they are made because they have worked out most of the kinks. Sure you'll see some changes ,but nothing major (like how they use new saddles or a finish). If they do ever start using metal and being like "No more wood!Trees live!" Then the value of our guitars will skyrocket because of collectors demand :D

If you figure out how to make your own stings you get in contact with me because I lack the skill and I don't want to be without in this "guitar apocalypse" you speak of lol Maybe that's what's gonna happen on December 12 2012 the guitar world is gonna end D: jk but really I hope people don't fall for that electronic guitar crap. I was at the shore and saw those paper jams guitars and I tried playing one and people were like "You play guitar?" I was like "Sure do!" So I tried and man that thing was so bad I couldn't even do a G chord lol So they didn't buy it after I told them it was crap :)

I wouldn't worry too much. We already have things that can simulate guitars -- and really well, in some cases -- but we still have guitars, too.

You aren't going to see them disappear.

Think of stringed instruments like, say, violins. They are tons older and still aren't replaced. So your fears are completely groundless. Stop worrying.

It doesn't matter what people invent, the only time that guitars will disappear is when people stop playing them.

And since there are millions of guitars in circulation... My son can start his own guitar shop when I leave this earth. I just bought my first PRS yesterday. Amps, too.

Relevant art can exist within any medium.

Drink a beer and have a smoke and relax....
