i want to take away the bridge and middle pickup of my strat so i can hollow out the body and get an awesome sound (like SRV's "yellow"), but i am not sure where to start. how should i take away those two pickups so that the wiring isn't affected? are strat pickups wired in series or parallel? any tips, about any step of the process including the actual woodworking, would be great.

Strat pickups are wire in parallele. You can remove any one.

To have the SRV sound , don't need to remove pickups ( this will show only the look of SRV ) but you have to be as good as SRV.

I wouldn't cut wires. Unsoldering them would be best if you ever wanted to reverse your decision. Then you could just solder them back with no damage done.
