I got hold of a CS strat today. It is a one off guitar that is strange (pics to be added shortly). All of the decals are right for a 94 CS guitar. The neck says "A. Perez" below is "For Robin Trower". This would be an artist relations guitar for Trower. I bought it from Paul Lidel (yeah, got to talk to him about the provinence). It has been seen by several Fender employees who said basically "yep, looks completely real 1 off custom shop prototype". The strange thing is there is no serial #, head stock, neck pocket or anywhere else. The setup is Neck- Texas Special, Mid, Texas Special, Bridge- Seymour Duncan, graphite saddles w Piezo pickup underneath on the stereo out. HEAVY birdseye maple w rosewood fingerboard. It was bought from an authorized Fender dealer, and like I said, 4 different Fender employees (not the shop people) have said it is real. That said, is no serial normal for Artist relations guitars or prototypes? Just wondering what it actually is.

A couple of quick notes. 22 frets and the back doesn't have any holes for the back plate at all- never was drilled.

Beautiful Strat HSS pity she is, personal opinion, but the body is beautiful.
Fender will respond very quickly.

Anyone ever seen one that didn't have serial #s?? There is no refinishing or anything where they would have been. The finish is perfect there. Like they were never put on in the first place.

Did you pull the pickguard and check the body cavities and other components underneath?

I did & all looks good. I will have to pull it again to get photos though.

The thing that says "FOUR" looks like a paper shim?? Thick paper is all it is.
